Zimbabwe Diaspora Development Chamber

Developing Zimbabwe from outside. Capital Formation, Training, Business & Industrial Development.

Introduction to ZDDC
In June 2005 civic society organizations which were formed by Zimbabwean exiles in South Africa created a coalition called Zimbabwe Diaspora Civic Society Organizations (CSO) Forum, now with a membership of 42 civil society organizations, each with its own membership and leadership. The coalition in South Africa joined with other Zimbabwe civil society organizations in the six regions across the globe to form Global Zimbabwe Forum, and set up its head office in Geneva, Switzerland.

Zimbabwe Diaspora Development Chamber is an organisation that was formed to assist Zimbabweans in the Diaspora to find a platform where they can collectively articulate developmental issues. It will among other things engineer a process of capital formation and development platforms, which will put Zimbabweans into production starting in the Diaspora, and to undertake, from outside, key infrastructure projects in Zimbabwe (e.g. water and power supply). As infrastructure improves the Diaspora will start new businesses in Zimbabwe to accelerate production, create jobs and development to alleviate poverty.
